What is MetCon?
MetCon, short for Metabolic Conditioning, is a full-body workout that targets both strength and cardio fitness in one full-on session. The class is designed to optimise your energy output (think calories burned), keeping you in the moderate to intense exertion zone for the duration of the class. It’s a fast and furious session, perfect if you’re looking to tone up and build functional fitness. You’ll cycle through a diverse range of movements in every session, so you’ll never get bored!
What Do You Do in MetCon?
A MetCon class at Coached blends three modalities: cyclical, weightlifting and explosive bodyweight work. You’ll push yourself to the limit with a mix of high-intensity EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute), AMRAP (as many reps as possible) and capacity work to build your engine.
Are Coached MetCon Classes Suitable for Beginners?
Given the intensity of a Coached MetCon workout, they’re not recommended for gym newbies. Beginners are better off trying out our Coached Strength and Coached Boxing sessions before hitting a MetCon session.
What Do I Need to Bring to MetCon Sessions?
Bring a towel and a water bottle, and be prepared to sweat! All other equipment will be provided.
What to Wear to MetCon Classes
Wear whatever you’re comfortable moving and sweating in to your MetCon class. Supportive enclosed footwear is a must.
